New Jersey's Supreme Court rules that grand juries can be empaneled to investigate clerical sex abuse allegations. In May 2021, the Camden Diocese challenged the state's right to convene a grand jury investigation for clerical abuse, with a county superior court judge ruling in the diocese's favor. The NJ Supreme Count overturned that decision.
